Overcoming Alcoholism

No one decides to become an alcoholic, but every alcoholic can decide to follow a proven, successful path to freedom from alcoholism’s destructive course.  That path empowers those who choose to actively follow it to restore their enjoyment of life, to reconcile with their past, and to embrace the future. The straightforward twelve steps and twelve traditions developed by Alcoholics Anonymous guide that path, and as AA’s Big Book states, “Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path.”

For those who are willing to thoroughly follow that path to improve their lives free from dependence on alcohol, the Knowlton Serenity Group provides three avenues of support:

(1) an open speaker’s meeting on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.;

(2) a closed women’s meeting on Mondays at 4:00 p.m.

NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME

At our open Sunday morning meetings, AA member-speakers share their personal experiences, strengths, and hopes in a safe and welcoming environment of mutual understanding and support.

At our closed women’s meetings on Monday afternoons, women AA members who are alcoholic or think they might be, discuss the Big Book and share how they apply the AA program to their lives to gain insights to help improve the quality of their sobriety.
